Lachine Hospital Pavillon Camille-Lefebvre
I dedicate my time to elderly patients, many of whom have no families nearby and who struggle with feelings of loneliness. I provide companionship, emotional support, and a comforting presence. I wanted to embark on this experience to reinforce my commitment to improving the well-being and inclusivity of vulnerable populations. I am working on strengthening my communication and empathy skills, as I learn to connect with patients on a personal level and provide care that goes beyond medical needs.
Sainte-Anne Open House - Biology Lab
I had the privilege of assisting Ms. Pham (the head of our Honours program) in the biology laboratory, where I engaged with groups of prospective Sainte-Anne students. We dissected a pig's respiratory system, exploring its intricate components such as the heart, lungs, esophagus, and trachea. Being hands-on with the dissection not only deepened my understanding of respiratory anatomy but also allowed me to share my knowledge with others. I was happy to help answer questions about CEGEP from future students while trying to guide them through their academic journey.
Sainte-Anne Tour Guide
Volunteering during Orientation Day allowed me to engage with new students and foster a sense of community. I was involved in various activities, from guiding tours around the campus to answering questions. Meeting incoming students and hearing their excitement about starting this new chapter was so much fun!. It was also able to share my own experiences and insights, trying to make them feel more comfortable and welcome in their new environment. Additionally, collaborating with my fellow volunteers enhanced my teamwork skills and strengthened my connections within the school community.
Calculus I & II Tutor
Tutoring in Calculus was a fulfilling experience that allowed me to support fellow students in navigating complex mathematical concepts. I assisted them with topics such as integration techniques, series, and polar coordinates, helping to clarify challenging material and build their confidence. Watching my peers grasp difficult concepts and improve their problem-solving skills was incredibly rewarding. I enjoyed fostering an open and supportive learning environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and discussing their difficulties. This experience reinforced my understanding of the subject and enhanced my communication and mentoring skills.
